All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club

If you want tickets to Wimbledon... you have to camp.  The British love queuing, and there are tons of very nice stewards there to make sure it is an organized process.  They even tell you when to go to bed and when to wake up.
Luckily my good friend Sydney was in London, and was willing to camp with me to get tickets.  God only knows why she would agree to that.
Camping is an extremely well organized process. You show up and are given a "que card" and a "guide to queuing" which is a lengthy booklet.  Our que cards were numbers 1006 and 1007.  We were told that the first 500 would get center court tickets and the next 500 would get the choice of  court #1 or court #2 or ground tickets.  Centre Court is obviously the most sought after and Murray was playing there, but Sharapova, Venus, and Nadal would be on court #1.

About 1500 people camped and the next morning a few more thousand started queuing around 3am.  We woke up and were worried we would have to get in the line really quick. But we asked a steward and they said "no, all of these people are behind you."  We were quite happy to hear that.  After we got up we had to store our equipment in the luggage facility and then get in line (in order with our que card).  After you are in line for a while they give you wristbands based on your que card.  The wrist bad indicates which ticket you get, and there are only as many wristbands as there are tickets.    Then we had to go through security, and then you finally que for tickets.  We got four tickets to court #1 with these two guys we met camping.  Some people a few places up in line from us were the last to get Centre Court tickets.  And we were some of the first to get court #1.

We finally got inside at about 10 am after queuing for around 4 hours.  It was quite overwhelming with all the people inside.  This is Centre Court and Court #1 is to the right.

When we got our tickets they said Section 30, row A.  We figured section 30 was near the back... but it wasn't.  It was the first section, court side.  We had four seats, right behind the umpire.  We could not believe our luck. Some people ahead of us in line were rows behind us. We hadn't even started camping that early the night before, we got there at 10pm.  When we got up at 6 in the morning there were already people camping for the next day!

Best seats ever.  You're jealous.
